Winter Gallery

Just sent all my work to print this morning, for the Bartlesville Art Association Winter Gallery.
The gallery will be on November 1st and 2nd at the Association building, by the Kiddie Park in Bartlesville Oklahoma.

Be sure to make your way over there and check out the work of our local artists.
There will be lots to see and buy, a one stop shop for your holiday needs!

I've have prints and plenty of cards for sale out there, so be sure to stop by!

Here's an adorable print I'll have available at the show.
(it also comes as a card-- great for a loved one, or even Valentines Day!)

Bunny with a Blue Balloon!

Getting geared up for this year's BAA Winter Gallery!
Here's a little bunny that will be floating his way to Bartlesville in November. (I hope to have lots of cards, prints, and even a few originals available this year!)

New Toys

Exciting news! I got new toys in the mail!
A new watercolor notebook, detail paint brush, and the really exciting part... watercolor pencils and water brushes! the water brush actually holds water inside of it and makes blending the pencils a breeze.
So instead of doing Illustration Friday this week I'm just playing with my new materials.

First time playing with the pencils and water brush, so much fun!!!

I got  a little more controlled with it, I'm loving the outcome!

Okay, I think that's plenty of exclamation points for now. I'm going to be working on another illustration tonight and over the weekend so hopefully by Monday I'll have something really cool to show off.

Illustration Friday

so this week's illustration comes with a little story before the image.
When I saw the topic for this week, I decided to use my little bear character from two weeks ago.
I decided to send him on a jungle adventure, but not in any jungle you might think of. He was off to explore a backyard jungle. His John Lund inspired sweater vest and driving cap give him the genuine explorer look, and you really get a sense of the adventure in his imagination. Meanwhile, the birdbath and fence show you where his adventure is actually taking place.
So without further adieu...

This little Sloth Bear has officially been named Lionel Bernard Kensington, or LB for short.
I hope for him to be a part of many more illustrations to come.

Just a casual little robot sitting on the bed. You see those everyday, right?

Doodle the Days Away...

Although I haven't been posting everyday, I have been drawing!
So here's the line up for the past few days:

7/19 STORM
I decided to change it up and do a watercolor sketch.

7/20 SWEET
Lionel(?) had an embarrassingly clumsy day at the sweets shop...
(sorry about the photo quality, water from the painting warped the paper)

7/21 WILD
When I hear the word wild, I always think of tigers... coincidentally
when you google the word WILD and look at the images... TIGERS!
